Kochi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin on Saturday said the party will continue its fight for justice on the Sabarimala issue, accusing both the ruling alliance and the opposition in Kerala of politicizing the sensitive matter.
Speaking to reporters after offering prayers at the Sri Adi Shankara Janmabhoomi Temple in Kalady and visiting the Sri Sringeri Mutt, Nabin said the BJP stands firmly with the people of Kerala and is committed to their safety and development.
“We prayed for the safety and progress of the people of Kerala. The BJP stands fully with the people of the state and is committed to its development,” he said.
Accuses UDF and LDF of Political Posturing
Nabin alleged that both the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) are engaging in political theatrics over the Sabarimala issue.
“We will fight with full strength on the Sabarimala issue and ensure justice,” he said. Addressing party leaders on Friday, Nabin accused the LDF and UDF of indulging in a “sham fight” to facilitate bail for the accused in the alleged Sabarimala gold loss case.
Focus on Assembly Election Preparations
The BJP president held meetings with BJP and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders in Kochi to review preparations for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections. He is on a two-day visit to the state to assess campaign readiness and formally kick off the party’s election campaign.
Nabin is scheduled to conclude his visit by formally launching the BJP’s election campaign in Thrissur later on Saturday.
Party leaders said the BJP aims to highlight issues of faith, governance, development, and public safety as part of its election strategy in Kerala.
