Hyderabad: Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit continues to make headlines, not just for its massive scale but also for the controversies surrounding it. After Deepika Padukone’s reported exit from the project, veteran actor Prakash Raj is now said to have stepped away from the Prabhas-starrer as well.
According to media reports, Prakash Raj has exited Spirit due to creative differences with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Sources claim that the disagreement escalated into a heated argument over a particular scene’s script and execution, eventually leading the actor to distance himself from the project.
Creative Differences Spark Exit
Reports suggest that Prakash Raj was set to play a powerful and significant role in Spirit. However, differences of opinion regarding the portrayal of a scene reportedly caused friction between the actor and the director. Insiders also indicate that Prakash Raj was not comfortable with certain decisions taken by the production team, which further strained the collaboration.
As of now, neither Sandeep Reddy Vanga nor Prakash Raj has officially commented on the reports.
Deepika Padukone Exited Earlier
Spirit had earlier made headlines after Deepika Padukone reportedly opted out of the film. According to reports, the actress requested an eight-hour workday and also sought a fee revision. However, the director allegedly did not agree to her terms, leading to her exit from the project.
Following Deepika’s departure, Triptii Dimri was roped in as the female lead opposite Prabhas. Triptii, who gained widespread recognition after her bold and impactful performance in Vanga’s Animal, is now set to share screen space with Prabhas for the first time.
A Big-Budget Action Film
Spirit stars Prabhas in the lead role and is being produced under the banners of T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film is expected to be a high-octane action drama and one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema.
