New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the premature repatriation of Shri Prashant Kumar Goyal, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, to his parent cadre, according to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The decision was communicated through an office memorandum issued by the Secretariat of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

What the Cooling-Off Period Means

In administrative practice, a cooling-off period restricts an officer from immediately taking up certain central government assignments after repatriation. The length and conditions of such a period are governed by existing service rules and are determined by the competent authority on a case-by-case basis.

Issuing Authority

The office memorandum was issued by Ms. Sakshi Mittal, Director, Department of Personnel and Training, on behalf of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
