New Delhi : Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has proposed a series of important board-level appointments and reappointments, which will be placed before shareholders for approval at the company’s 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for Monday, August 31, 2026.
The proposed changes include the reappointment of Arun Kumar Singh as Director and Chairman, appointments to the key positions of Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs) and Director (Finance), and the appointment or reappointment of Government Nominee Directors.
According to the official AGM Notice issued by ONGC on August 7, 2026, the Board has recommended the proposed resolutions as part of efforts to strengthen the company’s leadership and governance framework.
Arun Kumar Singh Proposed for Reappointment as Chairman
Arun Kumar Singh (DIN: 06646894) has been proposed for reappointment as a Director and designation as Chairman of ONGC.
Singh was earlier reappointed as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with effect from December 7, 2025, for a further period of one year, or until a regular incumbent joins or further orders are issued.
Under the proposal before shareholders, he will continue as a Director and Chairman and will not be liable to retire by rotation.
His continued leadership is expected to provide stability and strategic direction to ONGC as the company works toward strengthening its domestic energy operations and expanding its long-term business portfolio.
Satyan Kumar Proposed as Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs)
Satyan Kumar (DIN: 10181958) has been proposed for appointment as Director (Strategy & Corporate Affairs).
He was appointed as an Additional Director with effect from May 27, 2026, and currently holds office until the forthcoming AGM.
If approved by shareholders, Kumar will formally join the Board in the key strategic role and will be liable to retire by rotation.
The position is expected to play an important role in areas including corporate strategy, business planning, stakeholder engagement, and long-term organizational development.
Anupam Agarwal Proposed as Director (Finance)
Anupam Agarwal (DIN: 09601339) has been proposed for appointment as Director (Finance).
Agarwal was appointed as an Additional Director with effect from June 3, 2026 and will hold the position subject to shareholder approval at the AGM.
As Director (Finance), he will be responsible for providing leadership on financial management, budgeting, financial strategy, capital allocation, corporate reporting, and financial governance.

His tenure will be on a co-terminus basis with the Government of India or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Khanooja will be liable to retire by rotation in accordance with the applicable provisions.
Vinod Seshan Proposed as Government Nominee Director
The company has also proposed the appointment of Vinod Seshan (DIN: 07985959) as a Government Nominee Director.
His proposed tenure is for three years with effect from March 9, 2026, on a co-terminus basis with the Government of India or until further orders.
Seshan will also be liable to retire by rotation.
Vikram Saxena Seeks Reappointment
As part of the additional ordinary business at the AGM, Vikram Saxena (DIN: 10892368), who is retiring by rotation, has offered himself for reappointment as Director.
Shareholders will consider the proposal during the AGM in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Companies Act and ONGC’s Articles of Association.
