MCB, Chhattisgarh |: The Manendragarh – Chirmiri – Bharatpur (MCB) Police organized a specialized training program on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and snake rescue and wildlife conservation at the MCB Police Reserve Center under the direction of Superintendent of Police (SP) Ratna Singh. The initiative was designed to enhance the ability of police personnel to respond effectively to medical emergencies, snake-related incidents, and other public safety situations.
The program began with SP Ratna Singh inspecting the general police parade and taking the ceremonial salute. The training was then conducted at the Police Ground, Amakherwa, in two comprehensive sessions.
During the first session, Dr. Jayant Yadav and his team from the Health Department provided both scientific and hands-on training in CPR. Officers and personnel learned the correct techniques for assisting victims experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, or other life-threatening medical emergencies. The medical team also conducted live demonstrations, showing participants how immediate CPR can significantly improve a person’s chances of survival before professional medical assistance arrives.
The second session focused on snake rescue, snake identification, and wildlife conservation. Prahlad Kumar Pandey, State President of the All India Wildlife Rescuers Group, along with his Snake Saver Team, trained police personnel to identify venomous and non-venomous snakes, understand snake behavior, perform safe rescue operations, and follow proper safety protocols during wildlife-related emergencies.
The trainers also conducted practical demonstrations on the safe handling and relocation of snakes while emphasizing the importance of protecting wildlife and minimizing risks to both humans and animals.
Addressing the participants, SP Ratna Singh stated that police officers are often the first responders at accident sites, medical emergencies, and public incidents. She emphasized that knowledge of life-saving CPR techniques and safe snake rescue procedures can play a crucial role in saving lives and ensuring public safety. She encouraged all personnel to apply the skills learned during the training while carrying out their duties with professionalism, compassion, and responsibility.
The training program was attended by CSP Chirmiri Deepika Minj, DSP (Headquarters) Tarshila Toppo, Reserve Inspector Hemant Toppo, along with a large number of police officers and personnel. Members of the Snake Saver Team, including Tanjim Ansari, Wahid Khan, and Mohammad Nabi, also played an important role in conducting the practical sessions.
At the conclusion of the program, the MCB Police appealed to the public not to attempt handling snakes or rescuing wildlife on their own. Instead, citizens were advised to immediately contact trained snake rescue experts whenever a snake is spotted or wildlife rescue assistance is required, ensuring the safety of both people and animals.
