Raigarh, Chhattisgarh | In line with the directions of the District Collector, Raigarh Zila Panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abhijeet Baban Pathare, accompanied by Assistant Collector Gokul R.K., conducted a comprehensive field inspection of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) projects in Pandripani (East) and Kusmura Gram Panchayats under Raigarh Janpad Panchayat.
The inspection focused on reviewing the progress of rural housing construction, drinking water infrastructure, and the overall implementation of government welfare schemes. Officials were instructed to ensure timely completion, high-quality execution, and effective monitoring of all ongoing projects.
PMAY-G Progress Reviewed in Pandripani (East)
During the inspection, officials reviewed the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, India’s flagship rural housing program.
In Pandripani (East):
- 198 houses have been approved under the scheme.
- 186 beneficiaries have received the first installment.
- 160 beneficiaries have received the second installment.
The construction status revealed:
- 14 houses have not yet started.
- 9 houses are at the foundation stage.
- 6 houses are at the plinth level.
- 7 houses have reached the window installation stage.
- 5 houses are at the door installation stage.
- 29 houses are at the roof construction stage.
- 3 houses are undergoing roof casting.
- 113 houses have been fully completed.
CEO Abhijeet Baban Pathare instructed officials to immediately begin work on the pending houses and accelerate construction at every stage to ensure eligible beneficiaries receive their homes without unnecessary delay.
Strong Progress Recorded in Kusmura
The inspection also covered Kusmura Gram Panchayat, where officials reported encouraging progress under the housing scheme.
Key highlights include:
- 169 houses have been approved.
- 168 beneficiaries have received the first installment.
- 164 beneficiaries have received the second installment.
- Only 3 houses remain unstarted.
- 156 houses have already been completed, while the remaining homes are in the final stages of construction.
The CEO directed local officials to complete the remaining houses within the prescribed timeline so that all eligible families can benefit from the scheme at the earliest.
Jal Jeevan Mission Infrastructure Inspected
Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, officials inspected the Overhead Water Tank (OHT), pipeline network, and Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs) in Pandripani (East).
The village has been provided with:
- 255 Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs).
- Approximately 4,636 meters of water pipeline.
- A 50-kiloliter Overhead Water Tank standing 12 meters high.
The CEO emphasized the need to ensure regular, safe, and clean drinking water supply to every household while maintaining efficient operation and maintenance of the infrastructure.
Retrofitted Water Supply Scheme Reviewed in Kusmura
In Kusmura, officials inspected the retrofitted piped water supply scheme, which has already been handed over to the Gram Panchayat for operation and maintenance.
The village currently has:
- 414 Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs).
- Around 550 meters of expanded pipeline network.
- An 85-kiloliter Overhead Water Tank with a 12-meter height.
During the inspection, officials found that the Gram Panchayat has been operating and maintaining the water supply system in accordance with prescribed standards.
CEO Abhijeet Baban Pathare appreciated the efforts of the local administration and encouraged them to continue ensuring regular maintenance, efficient operation, and long-term sustainability of the drinking water system.
CEO Stresses Timely Delivery of Welfare Schemes
Speaking during the inspection, Abhijeet Baban Pathare said that both the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin and the Jal Jeevan Mission are among the Government of India’s priority welfare programs.
He emphasized that it is the responsibility of every concerned official to ensure that the benefits of these schemes reach every eligible beneficiary within the stipulated time frame.
The CEO also instructed departments to strengthen field inspections, continuous monitoring, and inter-departmental coordination, while ensuring that quality standards are never compromised during project execution.
The inspection was attended by Additional CEO Mahesh Patel, the concerned Janpad Panchayat CEO, Chief Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department Pratibha Navratna, along with departmental officials, technical staff, elected Gram Panchayat representatives, and local employees.
