New Delhi  — Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR), a leading state-run logistics company, has appointed Rahul Agarwal as a Part-Time Government Director on its Board, following a directive from India’s Ministry of Railways.

The appointment was formalized through an official order dated March 19, 2026, and has taken effect immediately. Agarwal succeeds Prabhas Dansana, who previously served in the role.

Leadership Background

Rahul Agarwal currently holds the position of Principal Executive Director (Traffic Transportation – Marketing) at the Railway Board, the top decision-making body of Indian Railways.

His induction into CONCOR’s Board ensures continued representation of the Ministry of Railways in the company’s strategic and operational oversight.

Under the terms of his appointment, Agarwal will serve:

  • Until he continues in his current role at the Railway Board, or
  • Until further government orders are issued, whichever is earlier

Governance and Strategic Relevance

Such government-nominated appointments are standard practice in India’s public sector enterprises, designed to ensure alignment between government policy objectives and corporate decision-making.

Given CONCOR’s core reliance on rail infrastructure, the presence of a senior Railway Board official is particularly significant. Industry observers note that this strengthens coordination between policymaking and execution in India’s logistics ecosystem.

Key benefits include:

  • Improved alignment with national logistics and infrastructure policies
  • Enhanced coordination with Indian Railways operations
  • Stronger board-level oversight and governance

Regulatory Compliance

CONCOR confirmed that the appointment has been disclosed in accordance with SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) Regulations, 2015.

The company added that it is completing all necessary formalities under the Companies Act, 2013, and will submit detailed disclosures to stock exchanges within the prescribed timelines.

The regulatory filing has been made with:

  • BSE Limited
  • National Stock Exchange of India
