Baloda Bazar / Palari: A serious case of alleged sexual assault has been reported from the Palari police station area in Baloda Bazar district. Acting swiftly on a woman’s complaint, the police arrested the accused within 24 hours and produced him before the court, which sent him to judicial custody.
According to police officials, the incident took place on the night of February 24, 2026. The survivor approached the Palari police station the following day and submitted a written complaint, after which an FIR was immediately registered and an investigation launched.
Incident Details
Preliminary investigation reveals that the woman had left her home after a domestic dispute with her husband. While she was heading towards Parasbheder village and seeking help on the way, a 53-year-old man allegedly offered to assist her. The accused is alleged to have taken advantage of an isolated location and forcibly established physical relations with her.
The complaint further alleges that after the incident, the accused threatened the woman with dire consequences if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
Police Action
Based on the complaint, Palari police registered Crime No. 83/2026 under Sections 64(2) and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The police arranged for the medical examination of the survivor as well as the accused and collected preliminary evidence from the scene.
Following the investigation and assessment of available evidence, the accused was arrested and presented before the court, which ordered judicial remand. Further investigation in the case is currently underway.

Palari Police Station In-Charge Parivesh Tiwari stated that the police acted promptly upon receiving the written complaint. “The case was registered immediately, medical examinations were conducted, and the accused was taken into custody after following due legal procedure. We are examining all evidence related to the incident,” he said.
Police officials have reiterated their commitment to ensuring a fair and speedy investigation while providing all necessary support to the survivor in accordance with the law.
