Top 10 student teams present innovative startup ideas at DAV Public School, Vasant Vihar, Bilaspur, under the ‘My School My Startup’ initiative
Bilaspur : Students showcased their creativity, technical skills and entrepreneurial thinking at Ideathon 2026, organised by CodeVidya India Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) at the auditorium of DAV Public School, Vasant Vihar, Bilaspur.
The event featured presentations by the top 10 shortlisted student teams, which demonstrated startup ideas through robots, working models and prototypes designed to address real-world problems. The projects combined hardware and software solutions to tackle everyday challenges while exploring possibilities for future applications.
Following the evaluation, the team that presented the idea of a smartwatch for dogs won first prize and received an incentive of ₹50,000.
AI-Powered Learning Platform and Nyay Mitra Also Win Awards
The participating teams presented their projects before the judges and guests. The entries were assessed on the originality of ideas, technical understanding and practical usefulness of the proposed solutions.
The winners were announced as follows:
- First Prize – Smartwatch for Dogs: ₹50,000
- Second Prize – E-learning Platform with AI Teachers: ₹30,000
- Third Prize – Nyay Mitra: ₹20,000
The second-place project proposed an e-learning platform featuring AI-based teachers. The third-place project, Nyay Mitra, was designed as a one-stop platform to help ordinary citizens address legal problems.
The awards recognised students’ efforts to apply technology and entrepreneurial thinking to practical challenges.
Initiative Covers All Nine SECL-Run DAV Schools
Ideathon 2026 is part of the My School My Startup initiative being implemented by CodeVidya with SECL’s support across all nine DAV schools operating under SECL.
The programme aims to provide students with skill-based learning in areas including digital marketing, data analytics, financial literacy, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics and entrepreneurship.
Through project-based learning, students are encouraged to identify problems, develop practical solutions and understand how ideas can be transformed into potential business ventures.
SECL HR Director Encourages Young Innovators
SECL Director (Human Resources) Biranchi Das attended the event as the chief guest. He appreciated the innovative ideas and models presented by the students and encouraged them to continue developing their skills.
Speaking to the media, Das said children represent the country’s future and that platforms such as Ideathon provide them with opportunities to demonstrate their abilities and pursue new ideas.
He noted that efforts are being made at various levels to encourage innovation and nurture emerging talent in the country. He added that young innovators could play an important role in developing solutions to challenges affecting human life across different sectors.
‘Students Should Become Job Creators’
CodeVidya founder Shivram said the objective of the initiative is to encourage students to become job creators rather than remain limited to seeking employment.
According to him, My School My Startup seeks to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset among students by encouraging innovation, independent thinking and problem-solving.
The programme aims to help students understand how technical knowledge can be applied to real-life situations and how promising ideas can form the basis of future startups.
School Highlights Students’ Technical Skills
DAV Public School principal K. Parthipan said the robots and prototypes developed by students reflected their creativity and technical understanding.
The event concluded with CodeVidya project manager Chaitanya expressing gratitude to the guests, teachers, parents and students who contributed to the programme.
Ideathon 2026 provided a platform for young participants to present their ideas, gain feedback and explore the practical dimensions of innovation and entrepreneurship.
