Bhatapara, Chhattisgarh: A young man was stabbed to death in a shocking incident in Bhatapara city, creating panic in the area. The attack took place in front of the Community Health Center, where a group of men allegedly stopped the victim on the road and assaulted him with a knife.
According to police officials, the victim has been identified as Ganesh Jhanjhote. Initial reports suggest that the attackers were already waiting at the spot. As soon as Ganesh arrived, they blocked his path and began arguing with him. The argument quickly escalated into a violent confrontation, during which the accused allegedly stabbed him multiple times.
Ganesh suffered severe injuries and collapsed on the spot, bleeding heavily. Local residents rushed to help and attempted to take him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.
The incident caused tension and grief among the victim’s family members and acquaintances at the hospital. For a brief period, the situation around the hospital premises also became tense.
Police from Bhatapara City Police Station reached the scene soon after receiving information about the incident and began questioning witnesses. During the preliminary investigation, police identified four suspects allegedly involved in the attack.
One of the accused, Manish Dhruv, has been taken into custody and is currently being interrogated. Police teams are conducting raids to locate the remaining suspects.
Station House Officer Amit Patle stated that the murder appears to be linked to an old rivalry between the victim and the accused. Investigators are now working to determine the exact reason behind the dispute. CCTV footage from nearby cameras is also being examined to establish the sequence of events.
A murder case has been registered at Bhatapara City Police Station based on a complaint filed by Prachi Karan Rathore alias Bittu. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) with crime number 93/2026.
Police officials said the investigation is ongoing and assured that the remaining suspects will be arrested soon. Authorities have also stated that further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
