Three Killed in Hit-and-Run Bike Crash in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Two Victims Were Brothers


Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur: In a tragic road accident, three people riding a single motorcycle were killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in the Dhanhar area of the district on Tuesday. Among the deceased were two real brothers, triggering widespread grief in their native village.

The accident occurred near the Tilokhan forest stretch under the Dhanhar area when the motorcycle was allegedly hit from behind by an unknown speeding vehicle. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle was completely destroyed, and all three riders died on the spot.

Two Brothers Among the Deceased

The victims have been identified as Avdhesh (28), Monu alias Akhilesh, and Shyam Singh Gond (45). Avdhesh and Monu were real brothers. All three were residents of Ghaghra village and were traveling together on a motorcycle for personal work when the accident occurred.

After the collision, the unidentified vehicle fled the scene, making it a clear case of hit-and-run.

Families Found Bodies After Losing Contact

Family members said they became worried when the three men did not reach their destination on time and stopped responding to phone calls. Later, locals informed them that three bodies were lying on the roadside near Dhanhar. When relatives reached the spot, the scene was heartbreaking as they found all three dead.

Police Investigation Underway

On receiving information, police from Kelhari Police Station reached the scene, conducted inquest proceedings, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. After completion of the legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the families for last rites.

Police officials have started scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the vehicle involved in the crash.

Demand for Arrest and Safety Measures

The victimsโ€™ families have demanded the immediate arrest of the accused driver. Local residents claim that accidents frequently occur on this stretch of road due to overspeeding and lack of traffic control.

People have urged the administration to install speed limit boards, warning signs, and improve traffic monitoring to prevent further tragedies. District authorities have assured that eligible compensation will be provided to the affected families as per government norms.
