Bilaspur, India — : South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), one of India’s largest coal-producing companies and a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has announced the recruitment of 1,600 apprentices for the 2026–27 training year. The application process will begin on March 17, 2026, and will remain open until March 31, 2026.
According to the official notification, the apprenticeship training will be conducted for one year at various underground and opencast mines, as well as other SECL establishments. The initiative aims to provide practical industry exposure to young graduates and diploma holders in engineering, technical, and general academic fields, helping them enhance their employability and professional skills.
Distribution of Apprenticeship Positions
SECL has divided the positions into two categories:
- Graduate Apprentices: 500 posts
- Technician Apprentices: 1,100 posts
The opportunities cover a wide range of disciplines, including Mining, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, as well as non-engineering streams such as BBA, BCA, B.Com, and B.Sc. (Chemistry).
Notably, the largest number of vacancies—900 posts—has been allocated to Technician Apprentices in Mining Engineering, reflecting the company’s focus on strengthening skilled manpower in the mining sector.

- Graduate Apprentice – Mining Engineering: 200 posts
- Graduate Apprentice – Civil Engineering: 20 posts
- Graduate Apprentice – Electrical Engineering: 30 posts
- Graduate Apprentice – Mechanical Engineering: 30 posts
- Graduate Apprentice – Electronics & Telecommunication: 10 posts
- Graduate Apprentice – BBA (Administration): 25 posts
- Graduate Apprentice – BCA (Computer Applications): 100 posts
- Graduate Apprentice – B.Com (Commerce): 50 posts
- Graduate Apprentice – B.Sc. (Chemistry): 35 posts

Interested and eligible candidates must first register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) 2.0 portal and then apply through the SECL website between March 17 and March 31, 2026.
