Dantewada, Chhattisgarh: Excitement is building in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district as preparations for Republic Day 2026 enter the final stage. A full dress rehearsal was conducted at the Government Higher Secondary School sports ground in Dantewada ahead of the main celebration scheduled for January 26.
Security personnel and school students participated in the rehearsal, showcasing disciplined and energetic march-past performances that reflected strong patriotic spirit.
Collector and SP Review Preparations
During the final rehearsal, Dantewada Collector Devesh Kumar Dhruv and Superintendent of Police Gaurav Rai hoisted the national flag and took the salute during the parade. They interacted with parade commanders from various contingents and praised their performance and coordination.
The atmosphere at the ground was filled with patriotic slogans, with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” echoing throughout the venue. The Collector also reviewed stage arrangements, seating for dignitaries, parade ground management, security measures, and other logistical preparations, issuing necessary instructions to officials.
Cultural Performances Highlight Local Tradition
Cultural programs presented by school students during the rehearsal were a major highlight. Along with patriotic songs, students performed Chhattisgarhi folk dances and songs, beautifully showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Details of the Main Republic Day Event
- The main Republic Day ceremony will be held on January 26, 2026, starting at 9:00 a.m., at the Higher Secondary School sports ground in Dantewada.
- Gajendra Yadav, Minister for School Education, Village Industries, Law, and Legislative Affairs, will attend as the Chief Guest and will hoist the national flag and take the parade salute.
- The grand parade will feature contingents from the CRPF, 9th Battalion, District Police Force, District Women Police Force, Home Guards, Senior and Junior Division NCC, Scouts, and Guides.
- The Aastha Vidya Mandir, Jawanga band will perform patriotic tunes while leading an impressive march-past.
