Raipur: Officials Urged to Work with Renewed Energy and Strategy for Bijapur’s Development – Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma

Raipur । Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma has directed district-level officials to work with renewed energy, innovative strategies and a strong sense of public welfare to accelerate the development of Bijapur district. He said that the complete eradication of armed Maoism by March 31, 2026 is certain, following which a new era of peace, security and development will begin in the Bastar region.

During his two-day visit to Bijapur, the Deputy Chief Minister chaired a review meeting of district-level officers at the district office auditorium on Wednesday to assess the implementation of development works under the ‘Niyad Nella Nar’ scheme. While reviewing department-wise progress at the grassroots level, he emphasized that under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the state is firmly committed to eliminating Maoism within the stipulated timeframe.

Vijay Sharma stated that after Maoism is uprooted, restoring public trust and speeding up development works will be crucial. “Time is limited, therefore all ambitious government schemes must be implemented with 100 percent efficiency, new energy and a fresh strategy,” he said, directing officers to discharge their moral and administrative responsibilities with dedication.

He further instructed that people living in remote areas of Bijapur must be connected with all beneficiary-oriented schemes of the Central and State governments, including roads, electricity, drinking water, schools, hospitals and anganwadi services. Ensuring that government benefits reach the last person in the queue will require coordinated efforts from district, block and field-level officials, he added.

The Deputy Chief Minister announced that Maoist-free Gram Panchayats will be developed as ‘Ilwad Panchayats’ under a special project, with development works worth ₹1 crore allotted to each. He also highlighted that 201 villages of Bijapur district have been included under the ambitious ‘Niyad Nella Nar’ scheme, with a focus on complete saturation and effective implementation of all government schemes.

Addressing the meeting, ADG (Naxal Operations) Vivekanand Sinha said that the law and order situation in Bijapur has significantly improved, making the implementation of government schemes much easier than before. “There is a visible difference between the Bijapur of the past and the present,” he remarked.

Panchayat Department Secretary Bhim Singh informed that issues arising during the implementation of schemes are being continuously resolved and that the development of Bastar division remains a top priority of the state government.

Collector Sambit Mishra assured that the district administration will work with full commitment to achieve holistic development in Bijapur, strictly following the directions of the Deputy Chief Minister.

The meeting was attended by District Panchayat President Janki Korsa, Bastar Commissioner Doman Singh, IG Sundarraj P, Director Ashwini Devangan, Superintendent of Police Dr. Jitendra Yadav, DFO Ranganathan Ramakrishnan, District Panchayat CEO Namrata Chaubey, and other senior district-level officials.
