Constable Durga, a member of the District Police Force, was part of an area domination operation along with a joint team of DRG and District Force on the Gogunda hill in Sukma district. While moving toward the forested area, she accidentally stepped on a pressure IED planted by Naxalites, resulting in a powerful explosion. She suffered injuries to her leg, arm, eyes and face. After initial treatment, she was airlifted to Raipur for further medical care.
