Raigarh SSP Shashi Mohan Singh Outlines Zero-Tolerance Policy on Cybercrime and Illegal Activities


Raigarh, Chhattisgarh: Following the appointment of new leadership, Raigarh Police has laid out a clear vision focused on strict law enforcement, community engagement, and zero tolerance toward illegal activities. Newly appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shashi Mohan Singh interacted with local media on Tuesday, sharing his priorities and policing strategy for the district.

The interaction took place at the Police Control Room, Raigarh, where SSP Singh held an introductory and courtesy meeting with representatives from print and electronic media. During the briefing, he spoke about his professional journey, stating that after being selected as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in 1997, he has served in various districts and battalions of the state, gaining extensive field experience.

SSP Singh emphasized that the primary responsibility of the police is effective crime control and ensuring strict punishment for offenders. He said Raigarh Police is fully committed to achieving this objective with professionalism and accountability.

Highlighting the importance of community policing, he stressed the need for better coordination between the police and the general public to ensure swift resolution of issues and to build public trust. “Police must be a reliable and service-oriented institution for citizens,” he noted.

Calling cybercrime one of the biggest challenges of the present time, SSP Singh congratulated residents on the establishment of a new Cyber Police Station in Raigarh district. He said the modern, well-equipped unit would play a crucial role in providing quick relief to victims of cyber fraud and online crimes.

Responding to questions from journalists, SSP Singh assured strict action against illegal gambling, betting, and illicit liquor trade, reiterating a zero-tolerance policy toward such social evils. He also appealed to the media and the public to cooperate with the police, stating that prompt information would lead to swift and effective action.

“The combined efforts of the police, society, and media are essential to build a safe and crime-free Raigarh,” SSP Singh said.

The meeting was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Soni, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sushanto Banerjee, and a large number of media representatives.
