Raipur : The ongoing protest by D.Ed-qualified candidates over the Chhattisgarh Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2023 has now gained national attention, with former Union Minister and ex-Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda stepping in to support the agitating aspirants. His intervention has significantly increased political pressure on the Vishnu Deo Sai-led state government.
In a letter addressed to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Munda urged the state government to take a sympathetic and expeditious decision regarding the recruitment of candidates against 2,300 vacant posts, in line with directions issued by the Chhattisgarh High Court. He emphasized the need for a fair and humane approach, considering the prolonged suffering of the candidates.
Movement Gains National Spotlight
Until now, the D.Ed aspirants’ agitation had largely remained a state-level issue. However, Arjun Munda’s letter has elevated the matter to the national stage. Protesters have repeatedly lost consciousness, ambulances have been deployed daily, and several participants have been hospitalized—highlighting the gravity of the crisis.
It was this deteriorating health situation, sources say, that prompted Arjun Munda’s direct intervention.
