Puducherry : Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated, dedicated to the nation, and laid the foundation stone for a series of development projects valued at more than ₹2,700 crore in Puducherry, aimed at boosting infrastructure, improving ease of living, and accelerating economic growth in the Union Territory.
According to an official statement issued by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the Prime Minister also shared highlights from his address at the event through multiple posts on X.
Expressing his pleasure at visiting the coastal region, Modi said the newly launched initiatives would significantly enhance daily life and economic opportunities for residents. “Delighted to be among the wonderful people of Puducherry. Today, multiple development works are being launched that will enhance ease of living and boost the region’s economic growth,” he said.
Focus on Infrastructure and Economic Growth
The projects span key sectors such as infrastructure development, connectivity, public services, and urban modernization. Officials said the initiatives are expected to strengthen Puducherry’s economic base while improving civic amenities and service delivery.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister underscored the government’s commitment to holistic and inclusive development across India’s states and Union Territories. He noted that improved infrastructure plays a critical role in attracting investment, generating employment, and raising overall living standards.
