Mohali : Infosys Limited has announced the expansion of its Development Center in Mohali with a new 350,000-square-foot integrated campus, a move expected to create around 3,000 new jobs and strengthen the company’s technology footprint in northern India.
The expansion aims to enhance Infosys’ ability to deliver AI-driven digital services and support global clients with solutions in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, application development, and digital transformation.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the new campus was attended by Bhagwant Mann and Sanjeev Arora, along with Infosys leadership including Jayesh Sanghrajka, Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar, and Niladri Prasad Mishra.
Modern and Sustainable Campus
According to Infosys, the new facility will feature a range of sustainability and smart-building technologies designed to improve energy efficiency and employee comfort.
Key highlights include:
- Sustainable architecture: The building will incorporate natural daylight, high-efficiency design, and intelligent LED lighting systems equipped with occupancy sensors.
- Advanced climate systems: Radiant cooling and heating technology along with zone-based HVAC controls will help maintain optimal indoor conditions.
- Water conservation: A comprehensive water management system will recycle 100% of wastewater using Membrane Bioreactor technology.
- Smart building infrastructure: Continuous monitoring systems will optimize building performance, while extensive green landscaping will help reduce the urban heat-island effect.
Strengthening Infosys’ AI-First Strategy
The Mohali expansion is part of Infosys’ broader strategy to scale AI-led digital transformation services worldwide. The facility will support innovation in cloud computing, data analytics, and enterprise applications while providing a flexible hybrid workspace for employees.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the expansion would significantly strengthen the region’s technology ecosystem.
“This expansion reinforces Punjab’s position as a hub for technology and innovation while creating thousands of high-quality employment opportunities for the state’s youth,” Mann said.
Infosys CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka added that the new campus would enhance the company’s operational capabilities and employee experience.
“The integrated development at Mohali will enable us to increase operational agility, offer world-class workspaces to our employees, and deliver greater AI-driven value to our global clients,” Sanghrajka said.
