New Delhi: Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) has announced that Harbrinder Singh Bajwa has assumed additional charge as Director (Domestic Division) on the company’s Board, effective March 1, 2026 (forenoon).
The appointment follows an order issued by the Ministry of Railways on February 20, 2026. According to the official communication, Bajwa has been entrusted with the additional responsibility pending approval of the competent authority, while continuing in his current role.
CONCOR, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Government of India, disclosed the development through regulatory filings with the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India.
Regulatory Compliance
The company confirmed that Bajwa (DIN: 11506675) has not been debarred from holding the office of director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India or any other authority. He has also declared that he does not hold any equity shares in CONCOR.
CONCOR stated that all necessary procedures under the Companies Act, 2013 and SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015 are being completed, with requisite disclosures to be made within stipulated timelines.
Professional Background
Bajwa is a 1996-batch officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. He brings nearly three decades of experience in railway operations, freight management, and public-sector administration.
He is currently serving as Executive Director (Freight Marketing) at the Railway Board, where he oversees the entire parcel business of Indian Railways, along with policies related to freight terminals and private wagon investments.
Earlier, he served as Divisional Railway Manager of the Khurda Division under East Coast Railway—India’s highest freight-handling division. His past roles also include Executive Director (Coal), during which he coordinated with multiple ministries to ensure uninterrupted coal movement for power plants and key industries.
During his tenure with the Ministry of Food & Public Distribution, Bajwa played a significant role in policymaking for foodgrain procurement and nationwide logistics. He was also closely involved in managing the transportation of Liquid Medical Oxygen across Indian Railways during the COVID-19 pandemic.

CONCOR said Bajwa’s extensive experience in freight operations, coal logistics, inter-ministerial coordination, and national supply chain management is expected to strengthen the company’s domestic logistics operations.
As India’s largest multimodal logistics operator, CONCOR plays a vital role in containerized cargo movement across the country. The company expects Bajwa’s additional charge to further enhance operational efficiency and support the growth of India’s logistics and freight ecosystem.
