New Delhi : GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna public sector enterprise and India’s leading natural gas company, has announced recruitment for 70 Executive Trainee (ET) positions through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026.
The recruitment drive aims to induct young engineering professionals across four key technical disciplines to support GAIL’s expanding operations and future growth plans.
Disciplines and Vacancies
The Executive Trainee posts are available in the following engineering streams:
- Executive Trainee (Chemical Engineering)
- Executive Trainee (Instrumentation Engineering)
- Executive Trainee (Electrical Engineering)
- Executive Trainee (Mechanical Engineering)
A total of 70 vacancies have been notified, with category-wise reservations applicable for UR, EWS, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST, and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), as per Government of India norms.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. Engineering) in the relevant discipline
- Minimum 65% marks for General, EWS, and OBC (NCL) candidates
- Minimum 60% marks for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates
- Candidates who are appearing in or have completed their engineering degree in 2025 or 2026 are eligible
- Upper age limit: 26 years as of March 18, 2026 (age relaxation applicable as per government rules)
Selection Process
The selection process will be based on:
- GATE 2026 score (only GATE 2026 marks will be considered)
- Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview
Shortlisting for the next stage will be done strictly on the basis of GATE 2026 performance.
Salary and Benefits
Selected candidates will be appointed in the E-2 grade pay scale of:
- ₹60,000 – ₹1,80,000 per month
