Coal India Medical Conference CIMECON 2026 Inaugurated at SECL, Bilaspur


Bilaspur, India |The Coal India Medical Conference – CIMECON 2026 was formally inaugurated on Sunday at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) in Bilaspur, marking the beginning of a major national-level medical event focused on occupational healthcare in the mining sector.

The three-day conference was inaugurated by Shri Brijesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief Vigilance Officer of Coal India Limited, along with Shri Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of SECL.

Senior SECL officials including Shri Biranchi Das, Director (Human Resources), Shri D. Sunil Kumar, Director (Finance), Shri Himanshu Jain, Chief Vigilance Officer, and Shri Ramesh Chandra Mahapatra, Director (Technical – Planning & Projects), were present at the inaugural ceremony. During the event, the official conference souvenir was unveiled by the dignitaries.

The conference is being attended by more than 250 doctors from Coal India Limited and its subsidiary companies. In addition, renowned medical experts from leading hospitals and medical institutions across India are participating, making CIMECON 2026 a significant platform for professional medical exchange.

Key sessions at the conference are focused on occupational health in mining areas, early disease diagnosis, adoption of advanced medical technologies, emergency medical management, and digital health monitoring systems. Experts are presenting research papers showcasing innovative treatment approaches and effective healthcare management models tailored for mining environments.

Addressing the gathering, speakers underlined the importance of building a modern, resilient, and compassionate healthcare system to support the vision of “Healthy Mines.”

Medical leadership from SECL, including Dr. Shrutidev Mishra, Chief Medical Services (CMS), and Dr. Arihant Jain, Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Indira Vihar Hospital, along with several senior doctors and officers, also participated in the event.
