Jashpur, November 27, 2025:
During his visit to village Naraynpur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai inspected the public awareness stall set up by Jashpur Police on the newly implemented criminal laws of India. The Chief Minister appreciated the initiative and praised Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shashi Mohan Singh for the creative presentation and public-oriented approach.
The stall became a major attraction for citizens attending the event. Police officers briefly explained the provisions of the new laws to the visitors and answered their questions in simple language. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said,
βSuch exhibitions and awareness programmes are extremely important to make the general public aware of new reforms. These initiatives also strengthen the trust between people and the police.β
The awareness stall highlighted the key components of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). These new laws aim to end the colonial criminal justice framework and introduce a victim-centric and technology-driven justice system focused on transparency and timely justice.
According to the stall presentation, the revised laws include provisions for:
- Fast-track justice,
- Stricter punishment for offenders,
- Digital procedures from E-FIR filing to final judgment within a defined time frame.
The stall also highlighted the growing importance of modern forensic and technological evidence, including fingerprints, DNA testing and voice sampling β ensuring faster, accurate and fair investigation.
SSP Shashi Mohan Singh said that the initiative is receiving a positive response from citizens:
βPeople are actively engaging with the stall. Posters, demonstration models and digital presentations have made it easy to understand changes in the new laws, increasing legal awareness among the public.β
The Jashpur Police has expressed commitment to continue such initiatives to ensure that citizens fully understand the new legal reforms and their rights under the amended criminal justice system.
