After Navapara–Rajim Robbery, Sarafa Association Bans Entry with Helmets and Burqas in Jewellery Shops

Following the sensational jewellery robbery incident in Navapara–Rajim, a wave of concern and anger has spread among goldsmiths and jewellery traders across Chhattisgarh. In view of growing security threats, the Chhattisgarh State Sarafa Association convened an emergency high-level meeting to strengthen safety measures.

The meeting was held via video conferencing and chaired by State President Mr. Kamal Soni. After detailed deliberations on security protocols, a major decision was unanimously taken.

No Entry for Face-Covered Individuals

The Association announced that entry into jewellery shops across the state will now be strictly prohibited for individuals wearing helmets or burqas. This step has been taken to ensure clear identification of customers through CCTV cameras and to deter criminal activities.

Several prominent office-bearers and representatives from different districts participated in the meeting and shared their views on enhancing security, including:

Appeal for Strong Security Measures

State President Kamal Soni urged all jewellery traders to install modern security equipment in their shops and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police and the Association. He also appealed to the state government and police administration to provide adequate security cover to jewellery traders and ensure the swift arrest of those involved in the Navapara–Rajim robbery case.

The Association emphasized that these strict measures are essential to safeguard traders, customers, and the overall integrity of the jewellery business in Chhattisgarh.
