Bilaspur Stays Peaceful During Holi as Strong Police Strategy Keeps Troublemakers at Bay

Bilaspur, India: While the capital city of Raipur witnessed three murder incidents within just five hours on the day of the Holi festival, the situation remained calm and controlled in Bilaspur thanks to a strong and proactive policing strategy.

Authorities in Bilaspur implemented a comprehensive security plan well before the festival. Under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Rajnesh Singh, police officers and personnel were deployed at major intersections, sensitive locations, and crowded public areas across the city. Continuous patrols throughout the day ensured that potential troublemakers stayed out of sight and avoided creating disturbances.

Residents celebrated the festival with colors, music, and enthusiasm. Neighborhoods and residential colonies saw people of all ages—from children to the elderly—coming together to exchange greetings and apply colored powders, reflecting the festive spirit.

72-Hour Security Monitoring

To ensure a peaceful celebration, Bilaspur Police maintained heightened vigilance for nearly 72 hours. Senior officers personally monitored the security arrangements and conducted frequent patrols across the city and surrounding rural areas.

SSP Rajnesh Singh himself led the Holi security operations on the ground, interacting with officers on duty and encouraging them for their dedication and alertness.

Senior Officers Actively Involved

Several senior officials also participated in the monitoring efforts, including Additional Superintendents of Police Pankaj Patel, Madhulika Singh, and Ramgopal Kariyare. City Superintendents of Police Nimitesh Singh and Gagan Kumar also conducted continuous patrols in both urban and rural areas.

According to SSP Singh, only a few minor disputes were reported this year, significantly fewer than in previous years. No major incidents occurred during the celebrations.

He also emphasized the importance of community cooperation in maintaining peace and encouraged young people to stay away from drugs and crime, stating, “Say no to addiction and yes to life. Youth are the future of the country.”

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the police and cooperation from residents, Bilaspur’s Holi celebrations concluded peacefully, setting an example of effective community policing and festival security.
