Pune : Bajaj Finserv Limited has acquired full ownership of its insurance subsidiaries after Allianz SE exited its stake in the ventures. The move makes Bajaj Finserv the sole owner of Bajaj Allianz General Insurance Company Limited and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Limited.
Before the transaction, Bajaj Finserv held a 75.01% stake in the insurance businesses, while Allianz SE owned the remaining share. As part of a structured buyback arrangement, Allianz tendered its remaining 3% stake in each company, allowing Bajaj Finserv and its promoter group companies to increase their combined ownership to 100%.
Strategic Move for Long-Term Growth
The acquisition gives Bajaj Finserv full operational and strategic control over its insurance operations. Industry analysts say the consolidation will allow the company to streamline decision-making, accelerate product innovation, and strengthen its presence in India’s fast-growing insurance market.
By owning the subsidiaries outright, Bajaj Finserv will also have greater flexibility in capital allocation, enabling it to invest more aggressively in technology, customer experience, and market expansion across both life and general insurance segments.
