Applications Open for Child Protection Jobs Under Mission Vatsalya in Sukma


Sukma, India — Authorities in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh have announced contractual job openings under the government’s Mission Vatsalya program, aimed at strengthening child protection services.

The recruitment drive, approved by the district office of the Women and Child Development Department, seeks to fill positions within the district’s Child Protection Unit. Officials said applications will be accepted until March 18, 2026.

Positions Available

According to the notification, the following posts are open:

  • Counselor — 1 position
    Monthly salary: ₹18,536
  • Social Worker — 1 position (reserved for women)
    Monthly salary: ₹18,536

Applicants must submit their forms to the District Programme Officer, Women and Child Development Department, at the Joint Office Building, Kumharras, Sukma. Applications will be accepted during office hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.. Officials said applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Eligibility Requirements

For the Counselor position, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, public health, or counseling, along with a postgraduate diploma in counseling or communication. At least one year of experience working with government agencies or NGOs in the women and child development sector is required. Applicants should also have basic computer knowledge, including MS Office, and proficiency in Hindi and English.

For the Social Worker role, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, or social sciences and at least one year of relevant experience in government or NGO work related to women and child development.

Age Limit and Residency Rules

As of January 1, 2026, applicants must be between 21 and 35 years of age, with relaxation for reserved categories as per state government rules. The maximum age limit, including all relaxations, is 45 years.

Candidates must also be permanent residents of Chhattisgarh and submit a valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority.

  • Caste certificate (if applicable)

Officials said reservations will be implemented according to the Chhattisgarh Public Service Reservation Act, 1994.
