ACME Solar Commissions Major Battery Storage Capacity in Rajasthan, Strengthening India’s Clean Energy Push

New Delhi : ACME Solar Holdings Limited has achieved a significant milestone in India’s renewable energy sector by commissioning key phases of two large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Rajasthan. The development marks a major step toward enhancing grid reliability and accelerating the country’s clean energy transition.

Phase IV Commissioned at ACME Suryodaya Project

Through its subsidiary ACME Suryodaya Private Limited, the company has operationalized 95 MW / 200.64 MWh under Phase IV of its Suryodaya BESS project.

  • Total Project Capacity: 285 MW / 601.904 MWh
  • Location: Pokhran, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
  • Villages: Sanwara and Mehar Nagar
  • Commercial Operation Date (COD): March 25, 2026

With this phase, the cumulative commissioned capacity at the site has reached 171 MW / 361.14 MWh, bringing the project closer to full completion.

Phase I Commissioned at ACME Surya Power Project

Simultaneously, ACME Surya Power Private Limited has commissioned 60 MW / 269.606 MWh under Phase I of its BESS project.

  • Total Project Capacity: 250 MW / 1,103.392 MWh
  • Location: Jaimalsar village, Bikaner, Rajasthan
  • COD: March 25, 2026

Strategic Importance of BESS Deployment

Battery Energy Storage Systems play a crucial role in modern power infrastructure by storing excess renewable energy and releasing it when demand peaks. With increasing reliance on solar and wind power, such storage solutions are essential for:

  • Stabilizing the power grid
  • Reducing energy intermittency
  • Enhancing reliability of supply
  • Increasing renewable energy penetration

These projects align closely with India’s ambitious clean energy targets and its broader commitment to reducing carbon emissions and transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

Company Statement

Rajesh Sodhi, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, emphasized that the commissioning reflects the company’s continued focus on innovation and its capability to deliver large-scale, sustainable energy storage infrastructure.
