Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal visits the Kanwariya Seva Samiti camp while traveling to Deoghar and reviews healthcare facilities in Ramanujganj
Balrampur, Chhattisgarh: Chhattisgarh Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal visited Ramanujganj while traveling to Deoghar to offer prayers at Baba Baidyanath Temple during the holy month of Sawan. He met members of the Kanwariya Seva Samiti, which operates a service camp for devotees traveling to Baba Dham.
Ramanujganj Municipality President Raman Agrawal, the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO), Civil Surgeon, Block Medical Officer (BMO), and other officials and employees of the Health Department were also present.
Health Minister Has Been Visiting Baba Dham for 28 Years
Jaiswal said he has been fortunate to visit Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar continuously for the past 28 years during the month of Sawan.
He appreciated the Kanwariya Seva Samiti for organizing a service camp and welcoming devotees traveling through Ramanujganj.
“This is the last point of Chhattisgarh. Thousands of people from our state as well as other states pass through and stay here while traveling to Baba Dham. The Kanwariya Seva Samiti is carrying out a major service initiative here. After offering water at Baba Dham, I will pray to Baba Baidyanath for the development, prosperity and better health of Chhattisgarh. I wish for the people of the state to remain happy and prosperous,” said Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Health Minister, Chhattisgarh.
Hospital Facilities to Be Operational Within Two Months
During his visit, the Health Minister also spoke about the proposed expansion of facilities at the 100-bed hospital in Ramanujganj.
Jaiswal said funds have already been provided to the Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited (CGMSC) for establishing the required infrastructure, including a dialysis unit and other medical facilities.
He explained that the government has also taken steps to address the shortage of trained personnel to operate specialized equipment.
According to the minister, funding for certain facilities has now been provided directly to a Central Government agency, which will also arrange operators for the equipment.
“We have provided the money to CGMSC for setting up the complete infrastructure, including the dialysis unit. However, in some cases, the equipment may be available but there is no one to operate it. Therefore, we have provided the funds directly to a Central Government agency, and operators will also be provided. They will operate the machines here, so there should be no difficulty. It will be their responsibility. We expect the complete setup to be installed within the next two months,” Jaiswal said.
Focus on Strengthening Healthcare in the Border Area
The proposed expansion of facilities at the Ramanujganj hospital is expected to improve access to dialysis, diagnostic and other essential healthcare services for residents of the area.
The minister’s assurance comes amid efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in border and relatively remote areas of northern Chhattisgarh, where patients often face difficulties accessing specialized medical services.
